Western Red Cedar
The heartwood has a wide range of colours
from a chocolate brown to a salmon pink that
weather over time to a silver grey colour.
Straight grained containing few small knots.
The anticipated life cycle is 60 years without
the need for preservative treatment if
sapwood is excluded (as in BS 5589). Western
Red Cedar is Class 2 in accordance with BS
EN 350-1:1994 and BS EN 350-2:1994 for
Durability of Wood & Wood Based Products.
Longer lengths of board are available in
several different profiles, these can be
applied either machined or fine sawn in a
vertical, diagonal or horizontal fashion.

Thermowood
New and unique, Thermowood has been
treated at high temperatures to reduce sap
and resin levels. No chemicals are involved
in this process that produces a rich, warm
coloured timber that will last up to 5 times
longer than untreated boards.
The process also renders both heartwood
and sapwood equally durable offering a 30
year service life cycle.
A range of 4 profiles are stocked with both
a machined and fine sawn finish.

Siberian Larch
This wood is hard and moderately durable
but more heavy (590kg per m3). It is a
small movement wood and if the sapwood
is excluded can be used untreated.
Light in
colour varying from yellow to a light brown,
it possesses good resistance to impact and
wear due to its high density. |
