Installation Guide
U-Foil insulation creates a warm roof situation. The system
combines two layers of U-Foil. The inner layer acts
as not only an insulation but with the combination of
U-Foil having a vapour resistance in excess of 500 MNsg-1.
A vapour control layer is completed when the joints
are taped. To install correctly the bottom layer is
to be fixed in position using spacer clips thus creating
a 25mm air gap between the two layers of U-Foil. Form
a 50mmm lap and tape the joints using 75mm foil tape.
The top layer to be pulled taught and fixed with 150mm
weathered laps and secured in position with tiling battens.
The outer layer combines the insulation purposes plus
a *tile underlay. To increase the thermal capacity within
the structure you can increase the 25mm air gap between
the two layers of U-Foil to 50mm and introduce a separating
membrane such as single layer aluminium to create two
airspaces rather than one, this then enables the layers
of U-Foil to achieve the maximum thermal performance.
*Check
with NHBC/Building control for approval before installation.
