Façade Award Main Sponsor Euroform is introducing Nichiha’s low maintenance, textured finish, decorative rainscreen panels to the UK. Combining durability of fibre cement with a wide range of looks, including wood, metal, brick, stone and concrete, Nichiha’s EX Series collection is a new option for low to medium height buildings – homes, schools, leisure centres, offices and modular buildings.

Developed by Nichiha, Tokyo, the Ex Series panels are widely in use in Japan, the US and Australia on projects including the Detroit Pistons Performance Centre, Hyatt Place Hotel, Wichita State University and retail chains including McDonalds, ALDI, Burger King and Wendy’s.

With Reaction to Fire BS EN 13501 of A2-s1,d0, the panels also have BBA Certification (24/7227).

“With its range of finishes Nichiha’s Ex Series can provide the aesthetic of your favourite building material at a fraction of the cost in a durable fibre cement product, its unique clip system will help reduce installation time versus widely used secret fix methods,” explains Mark Atkinson, Euroform’s Head of Building Envelope.

Thanks to the NichiGuard® self-cleaning coating applied during manufacture and PlatinumCoat® protection against UV damage and colour fade, the installation will look as good in years to come as it did on the day of installation.

Manufactured in standard lengths of 3030mm or 1820mm as 16mm nominal thickness, the panels have an interlocking profile. A compressible sealing strip is bonded to the profile so the panels fit neatly together to form an effective weather seal.

Nichiha’s rainscreen clip installation system reduces construction time. The ventilated rainscreen system design allows water to escape and air to circulate, reducing the risk of mould and water damage inside the building.

A range of colour matched accessories are available to enhance the project. Euroform and NICHIHA, a well-established name in Japan, have agreed an exclusive partnership in the UK. Euroform has been developing, fabricating and supplying materials for the UK construction industry since 1995. It is part of the Performance Technology Group of companies supporting the construction industry to meet acoustic, fire, thermal and vibration challenges.
